Library facilities The school library (ca. 140,000 vols.) was founded in 1879. Its prerevolutionary collections included many manuscript books, as well as valuable seventeenth- and eighteenth-century albums (many with miniatures) acquired at auctions in Western Europe. It acquired the libraries of P.E. Kornilov, V.P. Koz'menko, and I.A. Vaks. But most of the prerevolutionary holdings were subsequently dispersed, when the museum was closed down. The library now holds literature on the decorative and applied arts, as well as standard technical documentation. There is a card catalogue of illustrations. |
