Most of the collection consists of works done by students of the Stieglitz Central School of Technical Drawing. There are designers' originals, pressrun copies, and architectural plans and drawings done by Russian painters, sculptors, designers, and architects, as well as individual works by European masters, including copies, studies, and designs for mosaics, frescoes, paintings and sculptures. There are also designs for ornamental wood carving as used in the production of furniture or on larger architectural projects; designs for furniture and kitchenware; for jewelry and church utensils; for ceramics, tiles and glassware; and for fabrics, carpets, tapestries, and clothing. |
