Russian citizens should present either a similar official letter or a formal personal letter of request. Working conditions Readers may order 10 items at a time for delivery to the reading room. Orders are normally available within 2 days. Copy facilities Xerox, digital, and photographic copying facilities are available. Reference facilities A central catalogue of fonds has been developed in the archive, including data on fonds by repositories under the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Academies of the former Soviet Union republics that have the right to hold documentation on a permanent basis. There are indexes for the central catalogue. There are also several other catalogues under development—a systematic catalogue, a catalogue for agency histories, and one for Academy personnel. There are also subsidiary card catalogues of negatives and photographs, and by subject of specialization for agencies and individuals who created different groups of records (fonds). Databases are available for the central catalogue of fonds, personnel of the Academy of Science, and normative documents of the Academy.
