ArcheoBiblioBase: Archives in Russia: B-0Last update of repository: 3 December 2020*Federal'noe arkhivnoe agentstvo Rossii (Rosarkhiv)Access & Facilities Access For access to federal archives under Rosarkhiv, researchers should address an official letter of application to the director of the individual archive required. The official regulations for archival use are spelled out in the 2013 “Order for the Use of Archival Documents in State and Municipal Archives of the Russian Federation” (available in Russian at http://archives.ru/documents/order-us...). The Rosarkhiv office is prepared to advise researchers (in writing or by phone) regarding the location of specific materials or other problems researchers may encounter. Further inquiries are possible through the “Arkhivy Rossii” website (http://www.rusarchives.ru). Copy facilities The regulations of Rosarkhiv for the use of federal archives also cover general guidelines for photocopying services. These regulations apply to all of the federal archives under immediate jurisdiction of Rosarkhiv, and presumably will also be used by many other repositories. Library facilities The centralized Scientific Library of Federal Archives (Nauchnaia biblioteka federal'nykh arkhivov), as it has been known since 1992, became a part of GA RF (B–1) in March 1999. The library is located in the main federal archival complex (ul. Bol'shaia Pirogovskaia, 17; tel. +7 495 580-88-84; hours: M–F 11:00–16:00). Prospective readers need to call in advance to obtain a pass to the compound. (See desciption under B–1). |
