In 1918 a cultural protection plaque was placed on the house where the composer and pianist Aleksandr Nikolaevich Scriabin (Skriabin) (1872–1915) lived from 1912 to 1915. In 1922 the Apartment-Museum was officially opened. It subsequently became an affiliated branch of the Museum of the History of Moscow (now Museum Association “Moscow City Museum”, see H–5). During the 1970s it was temporarily closed, but was reopened to the public in 1988. Since 1991 the museum has had independent status under its present name. |
