The manuscript and documentary fond of the museum (ca. 2,100 units; webpage: http://abramtsevo.net/guidway/kollekc...) contains documents from the Aksakov family, including personal papers of the Russian writer, S.T. Aksakov (1791–1859) and his sons, K.S. Aksakov (1817–1860) and I.S. Aksakov (1823–1886), who were well-known Slavophiles and public figures. The Aksakov family documents form what is called the Aksakov Fond. Here also are records of the activities of the Abramtsevo Art Circle (Abramtsevskii khudozhestvennyi kruzhok).
There is also a special Mamontov Collection which reflects the activities of the Mamontov Art Circle, the Russian Private Opera Theater—“Russkaia chastnaia opera” (1885–1904), and the Abramtsevo Carpenter's Workshop (from 1882), which was run by E.D. Polenova. The Mamontov Collection also contains the texts of Mamontov's plays and his correspondence with his wife and such famous artists of the time as M.M. Antokol'skii, V.M. Vasnetsov, M.A. Vrubel', K.A. Korovin, and I.E. Repin.
The collection devoted to the history of the Abramtsevo Estate contains the earliest document, namely a land-survey register (Mezhevaia kniga) of the village of Abramtsevo (1768), as well as documentation regarding the proprietors and the plans of the estate.
The museum photographic collection includes portraits of the Aksakov, Mamontov, and Pakhov families, and their relatives and close friends. There are also photographs of performers in the Russian Private Opera Theater, artists of the Abramtsevo Circle, and scenes from the plays and theater productions of the Mamontov Circle and domestic theaters.
The museum archive contains administrative records of the museum from the time of its founding.
