Repina “Penaty”—Filial NIM RAKh (Repino, Leningrad Oblast)Holdings Total: 1,800 units, 19th–20th cc. The museum retains copies of documents relating to I.E. Repin's life and work, his family, contemporaries and pupils, together with his original photographs and drawings. On display are photocopies of the painter's main works, original drawings, studies for paintings, watercolors, and posters, together with similar work done by his friends and pupils. There are copies of his correspondence with such people as I.N. Kramskoi, P.M. Tret'iakov, A.M. Gor'kii, and M.P. Musorgskii, among others. There are also the proofs of a book of memoirs written by Repin, entitled “The Past is Close” (Dalekoe blizkoe) with the author's corrections, messages of congratulation, clippings from newspapers and magazines about the painter, and individual and group photographs. The museum is currently preparing microfilms of the manuscript material relating to Repin held in archives and by private individuals, and is also making a collection of photographic reproductions of his works. |
