The Fond of Technical Drawings contains documents relating to the building and restoration of the Catherine Palace, the Alexander Palace, the Catherine Park, the Alexander Park, and the various pavilions in the parks. The drawings represent the work of a number of nineteenth- and early twentieth-century architects, including V.P. Stasov, the Gornostaev Brothers, K.A. Ton (Thon), A.G. Bakh, R.I.ÃÂ Bakh, and V.Vidov. There is also graphic documentation (drafts, architectural plans, and drawings) of contemporary restorers. The Manuscript-Documentary Fond retains materials relating to the postwar restoration, as well as inventories of exhibits, historical information on the monuments, and other documentation. The Photographic Documents Fond contains views of the town, the facades and interiors of the palaces, the park buildings, the monuments, and the town buildings, as well as pictures of the postwar restoration work. There are also a few photographs dating back to prerevolutionary times. |
