Timiriazeva (GBMT)Holdings The museum archive (subdivision of the Scientific-research division of general biology) consists of three fonds: the administrative fond, the academic and educational fond, and the fond of documentary photographs. The administrative fond contains records of the work of all the subdivisions of the museum since 1922. The academic and educational fond contains the plans of exhibitions and displays, posters, records of the Academic Council, and texts of lectures and excursions. The documentary photograph fond provides a visual record of the history of the museum. Also retained here are the personal papers of the museum's founder and first director, Academician B.M. Zavadovskii. The slide collection of Moscow University Professor N.N. Kaden contains photographs of rare plants from Moscow Oblast, nature reserves, and African flora. The basic main fond of the museum collections contains paintings and drawings done by the animal painters V.A. Vatagin, A. Komarov, and K. Flerov. |
