The Academy of Pedagogical Sciences had been established in 1943 under the RSFSR (APN RSFSR), but in 1966, it was reorganized as the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the USSR (APN SSSR). In 1945 the branch of the Academy was established in Leningrad, which was reorganized in 1948 as the Scientific Institute of Pedagogy. APN SSSR was abolished in December 1991, and its successor was reestablished in 1992 as the Russian Academy of Education (RAO). The Scientific Archive of the Academy was established in 1944. Now the archive is a division of the K.D. Ushinskii Scientific Pedagogical Library of the Russian Academy of Education. |
