Total: 18th–20th cc.
photographic fond of Pushkin’s manuscripts—ca. 12,000 units; manuscript materials (main fond)—574 units (1769–1991); manuscript materials (auxiliary fond)—1,115 units

Many of the manuscript holdings in the museum are held in the Manuscript Cabinet, which is administratively part of the Division of Fonds. There is considerable documentation (in original and copy) on the life and work of A.S. Pushkin (1799–1837), including manuscript materials of and relating to many of his contemporaries.
Of special interest is the poet’s autograph book register (Registr k knigam gospodina A.S. Pushkina). The collection entitled “Albums and Manuscript Collections of the Late Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries” contains manuscript copies of Pushkin’s poetry as well as copies of the verses of contemporary poets like D.V. Davydov, K.N. Batiushkov, and V.A. Zhukovskii.
In the collection of documents entitled “Pushkin’s Contemporaries,” there are a number of letters from Pushkin’s friends and relatives—M.N. Volkonskaia, P.A. Viazemskii, O.S. Pavlishcheva, A.S. Griboedov, the Goncharov family, and others.
There is a separate collection of account books from landed estates together with deeds of purchase, documents issued by the Church hierarchy, and other official documents from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
The collection entitled “Pushkin and the Present” (A.S. Pushkin i sovremennost') includes original, handwritten verses by A.A. Blok and B.L. Pasternak, documents relating to the Pushkin anniversaries, articles by Pushkin scholars, and original pieces by modern literary figures relating to Pushkin.
Since most of the Pushkinmanuscript materials have been centralized in Pushkinskii Dom (IRLI—E-25) in St. Petersburg, the museum has a special fond known as the “Cabinet of Pushkin Manuscripts” (Kabinet pushkinskikh rukopisei) consisting of high quality full-size photographic copies of all the Pushkin manuscripts held in Pushkinskii Dom (ca. 12,000 units), which can be used by researchers in Moscow.

Working conditions:
A small reading room is available.

Reference facilities:
There are archival inventories, a card catalogue of the albums, and a card catalogue of Pushkin’s drawings.
