The museum holds documentation from several monasteries, including the Nikolo-Ugreshskii Monastery and Nikolo-Perervinskii Monastery, and from village churches. The earliest documents in the collection are early seventeenth-century scrolls recording economic activities in the villages of Kolomenskoe and D'iakovo.
