Holdings Total: ca. 34,000 units; 18th–20th cc. This division holds one of the largest collections of architectural graphics (18th–20th cc.) in Russia. There are drafts, plans, and technical drawings done by the students, teachers, academicians, and retired personnel of the Academy of Arts. The drawings and plans of Russian and European architectural monuments (some of which are no longer in existence) are not only of artistic, but also of historical and archeological interest. The collection contains examples of the draftsmanship of such architects as V.I. Bazhenov, I.A. Fomin, M.F. Kazakov, Carlo (K.I.) Rossi, V.A. Shchuko, A.V. Shchusev, V.V. Suslov, and A.N. Voronikhin, among others. |
