There are technical drawings, sketches, blueprints, estimates and other technical documentation on the restoration of the palaces and of individual works of art. There are also materials on the evacuation of museum exhibits during the war, postwar inventories, plans for exhibitions and displays, and other documentation on the work of the Oranienbaum museums. The Photograph Archive (fototeka) contains a small number of photographs of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitskii, who owned the palaces in the late nineteenth century. There is an album with pictures of the town of Oranienbaum, as well as photographs of holiday resorts in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and other European countries taken at the turn of the century. The postrevolutionary period is represented by prints and negatives of architectural monuments, palace interiors, the park and outbuildings, and various ornamental objets d’art. |
