The largest documentation dates from the period of World War II (1939–1945). There are also records from postwar military engagements, such as the wars in Afghanistan, Tadzhikistan, Moldova (Pridnestrov'e), Northern Ossetia, and Chechnia, including service records and documentary reports of the sick and injured. There are personnel files of medical service personnel from the Army and Navy, many of which also provide records of their earlier service careers in military medical institutions. These fonds also contain the medical histories of soldiers, officers, and non-commissioned officers, on the basis of which disability certificates were issued and other socio-legal inquiries are processed.
