The archival collection is based on materials donated to the Foundation by Mikhail Gorbachev and his family and reflects the evolution of the Russian state and society, mostly in the period from the late 1980s to present. The archives also holds some personal paper of several close associates of Mikhail Gorbachev—Anatolii Cherniaev, Georgii Shakhnazarov, and Valentin Zagladin, among others, as well a collection of papers relating to the life and public activities of Raisa Gorbacheva. The archive includes print, electronic, audio and video materials. There is also a large collection of over 30,000 photographs from Mikhail Gorbachev’s personal archives. Working conditions: The reading room has 4 seats.
