Library facilities The general Institute library was established in 1922. Since 1950 officially a branch of BAN, the library now has 250,000 volumes, including many rare books. The special foreign fond was established on the basis of gifts to Academician Abram Fedorovich Ioffe, especially from German and Scandinavian universities.
