The museum honors the well-known Soviet physicist and academician (since 1939), who was one of the leading researchers in high-temperature physics and physics of high-magnetic fields. The memorial holdings include original documents, P.L. Kapita personal fond (http://kapitza.ras.ru/museum/funds.htm, 332 files, 1921–1993), photographic materials and albums, and sound recordings of gold-medal award ceremonies. Kapitsa’s personal library, also held in the museum, includes many books with dedicatory autographs of well-known scientists and cultural personalia.

Many of Kapitsa’s personal papers have been deposited in the Archive of the Academy (ARAN—E-1, fond 2197; electronically: http://isaran.ru/isaran/isaran.php?pa...).

Researchers are received in the working offices of the museum.
