The long-awaited short guide (Spravochnik) listing most of the AVP RF fonds was issued in December 2002 in a small press run, but is not being offered for public sale and has not been distributed to libraries. A copy is available to researchers only in the reading room, once they have been admitted to the archive.

A preliminary list of fonds, with dates of documents included, that are currently open to researchers. Note the parallel secret (with numbers preceeded by “0”) and open fonds for each creating office. The list has a few noticeable gaps in the fonds covered, such as personnel and some administrative records, which are not available to researchers.
