Bakhrushin (pp. 15–40), a survey of correspondence of dramatists connected with the Malyi Theater (pp. 71–89), and a short bibliography of publications prepared on the basis of holdings in the division 1917–1987 (pp. 150–64).

The fourth volume in the museum series contains the most detailed available survey of the manuscript holdings: A. Fridenberg, “Rukopisnye materialy, khraniashchiesia v GTsTM” (pp. 175–307), with emphasis on theater memorabilia and autographs (with an index). Other articles in the volume deal with archival materials relating to the actor Pavel Vasil'evich Vasil'ev II, war-front theater during the Civil War, and a detailed catalogue of documentation, including graphic materials, relating to the famous actor Mikhail Semenovich Shchepkin (1788–1863).
        Other volumes in the museum Trudy series have separate titles (see h–670), and most of them are unnumbered.

Provides a survey of some of the Aleksandr Nikolaevich Ostrovskii (1823–1886) papers and related materials held by the museum, together with extensive published texts, and a catalogue of graphic materials. Several earlier volumes issued by the museum (Moscow, 1923, 1932, and 1937) also contain previously unpublished letters to Ostrovskii found in his papers, but include no significant commentary about the papers themselves.
