A heavily illustrated tourist guide, surveying the museum collections, with separate sections for the Soviet Caucasus and Central Asia, as well as foreign countries in Asia and Africa. Mentions some of the illuminated Oriental manuscripts, but only those actually on exhibit. A special chapter covers the Roerich (Rerikh) collection and memorial cabinet.
