A single CD provides the entire collection of photographs by Ivan Fedorovich Barshchevskii (1851–1948) of Russian art and architecture in a single database with Barshchevskii's original descriptions in Russian and English—2,754 thumbnail and medium resolution images, along with historical maps of Russia and plans of several cities. The collection is also available in high-resolution images in a separate series of four CDs, capturing all details from the original 18x24 cm. glass negatives. The maps are keyed to the geographic location of each image, including general views of Russian cities and towns; monasteries, churches, and other religious buildings; liturgical items; clothing and embroideries, furniture and tableware; weapons, armor, and equestrian gear in Russian collections. Also includes some Moslem and other Oriental art.
