History
The Academy was founded in 1955 as the Higher Aviation School of the Civil Air Fleet, as the teaching and scientific-methodological center for Aeroflot. In 1971 the school was given the status of an academy. In 2004 the Academy was transformed into the University and renamed the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation (SPb GUGA).
        The Museum of the History of Academy of Civil Aviation was founded in 1975, and in 1993 was combined with the Museum of Aviation Enterprise "Pulkovo". The resulting consolidated Museum in 2007 renamed the Museum of Civil Aviation in St. Petersburg.
