The museum holds documents relating to the life and work of the Russian composer and professor of the Moscow Conservatory, Aleksandr Nikolaevich Scriabin (Skriabin). These include sheet music and scores for musical works, like his “Poem of Ecstasy” (Poema ekstaza) and his symphonic poem “Prometheus.” There are also the manuscripts of his orginal philosophical works and correspondence with his friends and relatives. Among the personal papers there are drawings by B.M. Kustodiev, L.O.Pasternak, and N.P. Ul'ianov.
        The museum retains the composer's library, which includes books with dedicatory autographs by G.V. Plekhanov and by the poets K.D. Bal'mont and V.I. Ivanov.
        There is a collection of programs and posters thatare thematically linked with Scriabin's work.
        The Sound Recordings Archive retains recordings of the composer's work played by himself; by such famous pianists as G.G. Neigauz, V.V. Sofronitskii, and S.E. Meinberg; and by orchestras conducted by N.S. Golovanov and Lorin Maazel, among others.
