Holdings The Scientific Archive—Division of Manuscript Sources—retains the administrative records of the museum itself, together with personal papers of folklore scholars and other folk-art specialists associated with the museum. Of particular interest are the records of its expeditions to various regions of Russia and the former USSR, in connection with its acquisitions of folk art. In the auxiliary fond of the museum are many photographs and negatives covering the museum exhibits and their acquisition, as well as museum expeditions. Working conditions: Researchers are accommodated in a separate room. Reference facilities: There are opisi for the archival materials and a reference card catalogue for the photographic materials. |
