An anniversary collection of articles about the museum. Of particularly relevance here are the following:
        R.I. Rubinshtein, “Sobranie rukopisei Otdela drevnego Vostoka GMII im. A.S. Pushkina” (pp. 52–58), which provides a detailed history of the formation of the collections in the Oriental Sector, a large part of which were collected by V.S. Golenishchev; footnotes cite earlier literature on many of the manuscripts.
        N.N. Vodo, “Stoletie Graviurnogo kabineta” (pp. 14–30), which provides a detailed history of the formation and development of the Engravings Office in the prerevolutionary Rumiantsev Museum, the holdings from which are a basic part of the Division of Graphic Arts.

The entire issue of the museum serial consists of a collection of articles in honor of the seventieth anniversary of the museum, with articles about the history, holdings, and activities of the museum. In contrast to the fiftieth-anniversary volume (h–411), there is no new survey of the archival holdings, although a short section by A.A. Demskaia, “Istoriia kollektsii po arkhivnym dokumentam” (pp. 196–214) presents excerpts of documents from the museum archive. A report by A.K. Korovina summarizes the archeological expeditions undertaken by the museum over the past 50 years (pp. 115–21), and there is a bibliography of museum publications (1939–1981) (pp. 136–38). It also includes a short illustrated article about the fate of the Dresden Gallery by N.E. Eliasberg, “Kartiny Drezdenskoi galerei v GMII (1945–1955)” (pp. 233–35).
