Dom-muzei khudozhnika V.M. Vasnetsova — Otdel Gosudarstvennoi Tret'iakovskoi galerei

History
The museum was founded in 1953 in the house where the well-known realist painter Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov lived from 1894 to 1926. Initially, the museum was a Branch of the Museum of the History and Reconstruction of Moscow (now the Museum Association “Moscow City Museum, H–5), but subsequently became a Division of the Tret'iakov Gallery (H–44). The building was designed by the artist, a member of the “Peredvizhniki,” the Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions (Tovarishchestvo peredvizhnykh khudozhestvennykh vystavok).
