Estate “Liublino” (N.A. Durasov Palace) (Usad'ba “Liublino” [Dvorets N.A. Durasova]) built in 18th–19th cc. (ul. Letniaia, 1, korp. 1; tel. +7 495 350-15-53; e-mail: [email protected]; website: http://mgomz.ru/lublino).
The Kolomenskoe museum is located on the grounds of the seventeenth-century tsarist palace, overlooking the Moscow River in the village of D'iakovo, which had been the patrimony of Muscovite princes and tsars since the fourteenth century. It was opened in 1923 as a branch of the Historical Museum (H–1), and until 1924 was part of a group of museums controlled by the Pokrovskii (St. Basil’s) Cathedral Museum. In 1926 it became independent and was renamed the Museum of Kolomenskoe Architectural Monuments. In 1928 it was again taken over by the State Historical Museum (GIM), first as a division and subsequently as a branch. In 1966 it was reorganized as the Kolomenskoe State Museum-Preserve (Gosudarstvennyi muzei-zapovednik “Kolomenskoe”), but remained a branch of GIM. In 1971 it was again given independent status, and in 1974 when the Kolomenskoe estate was declared a state historico-architectural preserve, the museum was renamed the Kolomenskoe State Historico-Architectural Museum-Preserve (Istoriko-arkhitekturnyi gosudarstvennyi muzei-zapovednik “Kolomenskoe”).
