Entries are grouped according to the Russian and Western European sections and with rubrics identifying their type of provenance (official records, personal papers, etc.)

A detailed, comprehensive guide to the LOII collections as then organized, with extensive bibliographic references to published inventories and other descriptions, to documentary publications from the holdings, and to contiguous materials in other repositories. Includes name and geographic indexes with numbers of fonds and collections. Coverage is updated by the 1995 guide (e–230) which lists 100 additional fonds not included in the 1958 guide.

A series of volumes within the LZAK series, which provide catalogues and/or manuscript descriptions of many of the charters and other documents collected by the Archeographic Commission. Detailed analysis of the contents of these and other volumes in the LZAK series is provided in the Begunov Spravochnik (1963). Appropriate correlations with current fond numbers are provided in the 1958 guide (e–231).

Provides a comprehensive bibliography of the publications of the prerevolutoinary Archeographic Commission and its postrevolutionary successors until it was disbanded in 1936. Includes an alphabetical index of titles and name indexes. Many of the publications are from or pertaining to collections in the Archive.

The catalogue, arranged by type of publication, includes full bibliographic data on published collections of Russian chronicles, reports from archeographic expeditions, official historical documents, foreigners' descriptions of Russia, charters and letters of Russian tsars and emperors, diaries, and travel accounts. Many of the published materials are from collections from the Archeographic Commission now held by the Archive.
